American Friends of Kenya (AFK) is devoted to helping schools, hospitals, community libraries, women's shelters, orphanages and other institutions in Kenya. Emely Silver, Executive Director says: "We are on a journey with the people of Kenya. They select the destination." Working in partnership with reputable organizations and individuals around the world and in Kenya, we are able to make 2 to 3 shipments a year of books, medical and school supplies, and computers, build libraries in rural Kenya, start micro credit projects, and have an Orphan sponsorship program. AFK also has a volunteer program and does periodic missionary trips to Kenya. http://www.nyym.org New York Yearly Meeting of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers) Visit the Web site of New York Yearly Meeting of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers). We are working together to raise awareness, to raise funds to help displaced refugees and to help end poverty in Africa, to put Buffalo on the map for this humanitarian effort, to help human beings who cannot help themselves, and taking small steps to make a BIG difference. Join us along with area schools, businesses, community members, religious groups, etc. to work toward a common goal. We are making a difference! http://web.mac.com/boundingbooks/iWeb/Site/Welcome.html Bounding Books The mission of Bounding Books is to furnish the Crossroads Springs Institute and community with a library that will stack a rich variety of books for the students. The donations of books, monetary funds, and any other resources will greatly enhance the education of students and build a bridge of friendship. Many of these students will never leave Kenya or their villages but Bounding Books will allow them the opportunity to travel anywhere they would like with their imaginations and stories that will fill the library.
