Deputy-Head Teacher’s Comment

Crossroads Springs Institute is a child care center for orphaned and needy children. It is situated in Western Kenya in Africa.

At this center, children are offered quality education, given school uniforms and provided for with basic health care, which includes hospitalization in cases of severe illnesses. The teaching staff comprises of six Kenyan qualified teachers.

I am Miss Christine Imbwaga, the deputy head teacher at Crossroads. I joined the center after completing my training.

I want to take this opportunity to thank all our donors from the United States of America, due to your support towards this project. The teachers and I are doing the best to support and develop these needy children.

We desired to know and let you know what the children at this center feel about the chance they have received to be at this center. We thus carried interviews. All classes (pre-unit, nursery, standards one – four) were represented in this study by two pupils – a boy and a girl per class, who also doubled up as the leading pupils academically out of the total school roll of one hundred and thirty pupils.

Their ability has indicated that if they continue to get support from all well wishers including donors and teachers as they are nurtured, drilled and trained, they will become very useful members of the society in the future, in addition to their life-story, which will be our encouragement to others who are struggling in the society.

I wish these children finish their primary education in this Institution and also secondary education if possible.

I would finally like to wish all our donors from the United States of America the very best in your undertakings and God’s blessings as you continue to support needy children across the globe especially Crossroads Springs Institute.

Thank you,

Sincerely yours,

Christine Imbwaga
Deputy-Head Teacher

Abigail Kagonya

My name is Abigail Kagonya, I am in class two at Crossroads Springs Institute situated in Western Kenya, Vihiga District, Tiriki West Division.

My parent Norah Kaduka passed away. I am an orphan aged nine (9) years old. My class teacher’s name is Mr. Nicholas Amulavu.

I thank my donors for the favour they have given in providing free education, food and clothing. I also thank my class teacher and all teachers because they are determined and hardworking in giving us free quality education that I didn’t get in my former primary school. Through these, they have made me to develop motives of becoming a doctor in life.

At home, we don’t get proper care. I kindly request my donors to enable me continue with my education at Crossroads Springs Institute for my motives to be reveals in future.

Branice Siaba

My name is Branice Siaba. I’m a girl aged (7) seven years old. I’m in class one (1) at Crossroads Springs Institute, which is in Western Kenya. I love Crossroads, because we as pupils we are given basic needs like; food, books, uniforms and pens.

Crossroads is good because pupils in schools around us are not given all these things. My father Evans Jevunya died the year 2004 while I was still young. I’m really struggling with my academic standards, that’s why in the last terms examinations I managed to get 506 marks out of 600, which place me number two (2) out of 32 pupils in our class.

I like my teachers at Crossroads Springs Institute because they love us (pupils) and they teach very well, especially our class teacher Raydon Aligula, who usually make fun with us.

My ambition in life after school is to be a secondary school teacher. I would like to give thanks and appreciations to our donors in United States of America for making our life and academic at Crossroads to be more comfortable and also to any other person contributing to this.
