Men Complete the Roof on the Classroom Building |
Last year Dr. Isiaho proposed that a new school building be constructed with 8 spacious classrooms, staff offices and bathrooms. With a new classroom building, children could be educated through Grade 8, take the Primary school "leaving" exam and continue on to secondary school. The old building could then be used for Early Childhood classes, dormitories for the most needy children, dining and other school activities. Currently most children are housed by willing guardians in the community.
Classroom Building Floor Plan
Working with local architects, Dr. Isiaho designed a three-story structure at a proposed cost of $150,000 to compliment the original school structure.

THE CHALLENGE!
The challenge is to quickly raise the additional funds needed to complete the construction. Over $88,700 has been raised (plus $18,000 in 2010 for safety railings and stairwells), allowing construction of the foundation, 1st, 2nd, 3rd floors, and roof. However, the challenge now is to raise the additional $48,000 to fully complete the interior and exterior of the three story classroom building with electricity, plumbing, bathroom fixtures, blackboards, windows, doors, plastering and painting.

With a successful fund drive, hopefully these monies can be raised in months rather than the years it would take using only the present supporter donation efforts, and occasional general fund raisers.
HOW MIGHT INDIVIDUALS AND GROUPS HELP?
Contributions by individuals, groups, corporations or charitable foundations could be directed in several ways.
For example:
“Adopt” a portion of the building (with naming opportunities.)
o For a gift of $50,000 or more, a sign with the donor name at the main building entrance.
o For $20,000-$50,000, the donor name on one of the floors
o For $5,000-$20,000, the donor name on a classroom door
o For $500-$5,000, the donor name on a student desk
o For $50-$500, the donor name on a brick on the Donor Wall
Other fund drive activities may be organized, such as a major automobile raffle, or a mini-telethon. Suggestions are always welcome.
NOTE: Building fund contributions and operating expense contributions are kept in separate accounts. Donors may indicate how they would like their contribution to be used.
All donations go directly to the Crossroads Springs Institute account in Kenya. (100% if by check, 97% if online by credit card)
