| Dr. R. Meshack Isiaho founded Crossroad Springs
in 2003 and formed a Board of Managers which first met in May, 2004. A
representative board was selected to bring expertise in education, social
services, community leadership, farming, national AIDS services, and local
congregations. An unfinished brick building, originally intended as a
tourist hotel, was chosen for the children’s school and residence
because of nearness to utilities, health center, and recreation field. |

Reconstruction began in July, 2004 and children
began Early Childhood Education classes in mid-August. A volunteer work
group of Canadians and Americans joined Kenyan construction workers,
educators, managing board, director and children in September ’04.
Major construction of the original building complete. The kitchen and
underground water storage tank were finished recently! 320 children
attend classes with 40 children living in dorm rooms which are furnished, with beds, mattresses, blankets, mosquito nets, and cupboards.
With two classes moving into the new building in 2009, 60 children will be
able to live in dorm rooms in the original building.
Your support is needed: A
$400 donation will support one child’s food, clothing, health, housing and
education
for a year.
A Well for fresh water has been dug!
The water is "Clean, Clear and Tasteless!" Read about it in the
May 2007 Newsletter. |
