Crossroads Springs is an orphan care center and school in Hamisi, Kenya,
for children whose parents have died of AIDS. Children in Early
Childhood classes through Grade 8 are provided food, clothing, education
and loving care. Founded in 2003, 40 children entered the school in
2004. Now 320 children are learning at Crossroad Springs. An
unfinished building was completed for the school and all activities,
thanks to the hard work of the Kenyan village and the generosity of
donors in North America. As children moved up through the grades,
joined by new Early Childhood students, they outgrew the original space,
and a new classroom building has been under construction. The original
building will continue to house kitchen, dining room, Early Childhood
classes, and expanded dorm facilities for children who need to live at
school.
Much progress has been made in the last two years! Thank you to everyone who has
given time, energy and financial support to move the construction along!
The
CHALLENGE
now is to raise the additional
$66,000
to fully complete the interior and exterior of the three story classroom
building with electricity,
plumbing, bathroom fixtures, blackboards, windows, doors, plastering and
painting. For more information, click on:
